Bishop Coll visited Castlecomer on 26th March and met with representatives of Castlecomer, Muckalee and Clogh parishes. In recent years parishes have been grouped in clusters with the intention of planning for the future and working together in local areas. There are 13 clusters in the diocese, ranging from groups with four parishes to those with two. Geographically we are grouped with our neighbours in Muckalee and Clogh. Bishop Coll led the group on a reflection upon the Church and the evolution of the parish system. There followed a discussion amongst those present. Bishop Coll intends to have a series of follow up meetings later this year. Parallel to these local cluster meetings the Diocesan Council of Priests and the Diocesan Pastoral Committee are also reflecting upon the needs of the diocese at this time and planning the necessary plans and strategies for the future.
